  • Avoid sunlight and soaking the tattoo in water during the healing process. This includes baths (Showers are fine), swimming pools, beaches, as well as tanning etc. Do not itch or scratch your tattoo.

Recovery Derm, Tegiderm, or Second Skin which is a clear bandage provided in most cases where applicable. The bandage remains on for 3-5 days before being removed. Once removed the tattoo only requires cleaning daily with antibacterial soap and warm water, then once dry moisturizing with lotion or recommended tattoo balms for the rest of the healing process (usually 2-4 weeks).

Always make sure to regularly wash exposed/unbandaged tattoos with antibacterial, unscented, dye-free soap (Dial White Anti-Bacterial for example) during healing. If healing with plastic wrap, replace the wrapping with fresh plastic after every wash, using a thin layer of Aquaphor after drying, but before rewrapping.

In the weeks following of healing after the Saniderm or Plastic Wrap, moisturize your tattooed skin with either Lubriderm unscented, Aveeno unscented, Palmers Cocoa Butter, or Aquaphor.

Itchy, flaking skin is a normal part of the healing process. If you are concerned with any part of the process, reach out to your artist immediately.

  • Eat and rest properly before getting tattooed.

Consult your artist before using tattoo products like numbing creams.

Make sure to notify your artist if you are taking any blood thinners or medication that may effect your skin or bleeding.

Alcohol effects the tattoo process, so please do not drink heavily the night before or the day of your appointment.

Notify your artist of any allergies you have, especially to cocoa, coconut, shellfish, lidocaine, bactine, or adhesives like the ones used in Saniderm, Tegiderm, RecoveryDerm, and Second Skin etc.

Moisturizing the area you're getting tattooed with lotion in the days before the tattoo helps keep your skin in good condition, but it’s a good idea to avoid lotions the day of or right before a session.

If you are feeling ill, keep in mind your immune system effects your recovery, so your tattoo may not heal well if you are already fighting other symptoms. In the case that you don’t feel well, protect yourself and others by notifying your artist to reschedule your appointment.

Sunglasses, headphones, and bringing a pillow can make the process more comfortable.

  • How much does a tattoo cost?

The cost of a tattoo varies depending on factors such as size, complexity, placement, and the artist's hourly rate. During your consultation, your artist will discuss pricing with you based on your design and requirements.

Do I need to leave a deposit to book a tattoo appointment?

To book an appointment there is a non-refundable deposit which covers drawing time and holds the date of the appointment.

The deposit is returned to you when the tattoo is completed, as part of the total cost of the tattoo, similar to a down payment.

Each artist sets their own deposit policies and prices, so be sure to discuss this with your chosen artist during the booking process.

Can I make changes to my tattoo design after booking?

We do our best to ensure a design is created as communicated to us, and are happy to accommodate reasonable changes to the design. However, major alterations may require rescheduling or additional consultation time, depending on the complexity of the changes. To avoid complications, we encourage taking the time to communicate the desired results before booking an appointment.
